More about the Womans bunad from Namdalen
The work on the bunad from Namdalen started in 1934, but it took years before it was finished. Kaia Severeide from Rørvik designed and prepared this bunad. It was showed the first time in the 1950s.
The inspirations for this bunad, both the skirt and the silver can be seen at Paul Woxengs collections in Vikna.
The bodice is made after patterns found in Overhalla, the shirt from Grong and the hat from Nordli. The silkscarf used is not made for the bunad, the tradition is to use the finest you have, suitable in colors on the bunad.
