Mans bunad from Romerike

image002.jpg (56462 bytes)This is Espen, Kjell Gunnar and Ola from Eidsvold in their Romeriksbunad. The picture was taken May 17., 2001. It really looked like they had a good time! You can also see a picture of Espen here, in the same bunad but without the jacket.

Thank you to Lise for sending me this, you can visit Lises homepage here
runebun3.JPG (29832 bytes) Take a close look at this guy! Rune is a good friend of ours. He got his Romeriks-bunad just two weeks before this picture was taken, on my wedding day February 17! Notice the beautiful cupboard in the background!

As you can see, Rune is very proud in his new bunad

romman.jpg (49345 bytes)On this picture you can see 3 men in identical Romeriks bunads. I only know the man in the middle, Karsten (my mothers boss). He is a dancer in Leikarringen Rakne.

More about the mans bunad from Romerike
The mans bunad from Romerike was completed in 1952. It was Åsmund Seimdal from Kolbotn, in collaboration with Heimen that created it.

The bunad is based on a painting by Anders Haneborg from Høland and old costumes. The jacket is in white wadmal, with fice buttons. The buttonholes with red edges.

The waistcoat is a copy of an old waistcoat from Elton in Nannestad.

It is no particular hat to this bunad, but, black hat is used. Also, in the old days, a red knitted hat were used.
