About the Womans Fusa Bunad (Hålandsdalen).
More than 20 years ago, Anni Bolstad started the work on the
womans bunad from Hålandsdalen . It was registered about 1000 costumes from
Fusa municipality.
"Bunad- og folkedraktrådet" did also register costumes material
from Os and Samnanger to get an answer to the costumes traditions. The
work showed that the traditions were almost the same as in Fusa, just small
variations were found.
Else Bodil Gjøn from Hålandsdalen worked on, and
completed the bunad. She reconstructed the womans bunad from 1820 - 1850.
The source material was mainly two paintings by Adolph Tidemand, two women in
Hålandsdalen, and old costumes and photographs.
