Deceased Name: LEO JUGASEK
Leo Jugasek, 89, of South First Avenue in Proctor died Friday, March 13, 1998, in St. Luke's Hospital.
He was born in Poland to John and Elenora Jugasek and lived in Proctor most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Leo's Texaco from 1934 to 1972 and had worked in the Machine Shop of the Duluth Missabe and Iron Range Railway during World War II.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, AARP and had been a member of Proctor Moose Lodge 1302 since 1939. He served on the supervisory committee for the Proctor Area Federal Credit Union and several Proctor city committees.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jim in 1958; and two brothers, William in 1993 and Joe in 1994.
Surviving is his wife, Marion, whom he married Dec. 18, 1935; a son, Tim; two daughters, Barbara (Ray) Larsen and Mary (Mickey) Strongitharm, all of Proctor; two brothers, Frank of Proctor and Stan of Duluth; two sisters, Eleanor Brassard of Proctor and Helen Nosek of Fredonia, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Kathy, Brenda, Gary, Jim, Patty, Paul and Jacqueline; and nine great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Brady, Devin, Parker, Ciera, Meghan, Jacob, Zachary and Brooke.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. today with an evening vigil service at 6:30 in Bell Brothers Chapel. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Rose Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to St. Rose School.
