More about the Vestfold Mans Bunad.

The Vestfold Husflidslag Man’s Bunad
This bunad is the result of reconstruction work carried out by Vestfold Husflidslag completed in 1985. The reconstruction is based principally on original garments from Andebu dating from the first half of the 19th century. Another source of background material was a collection of papers and private letters, including around 200 old documents concerning the settlement of estates. It took ten years to make this collection. The bunad shirt is a copy of a shirt sewn for Ole Namløs (1801-189
6) from Sandar. The monogram ‘ON – 16’ is embroidered in blue cross-stitching under the neck slit. The linen that was used for this shirt had been manufactured at Namløs Farm from flax grown there. A great deal is now known about the history behind the particular garments that were reconstructed for this man’s bunad. The bunad jacket is copied from the ‘Trolldal’ jacket and is made in red wadmal.   (from http://www.husfliden.no
