The folk-costume in Telemark has an unbroken line way back when. It has had influence from the trends in Europe, but the main lines has been the same.
After abt. 1915 the folk costume changed
to be a feast costume, even if some older women used it for all purposes as long
as they lived.
This costume, with the velvet bodice, was used in a relatively short
period, from abt 1895 till 1915.
