Swedish folk costumes

Also Sweden has folk costumes. I don't know to much about their costume-traditions, but I got some nice pictures from a e-mail-friend, Inger in Blekinge.

fdrakt_kvinna3b.JPG (45823 bytes)Inger made her costume in 1978, after going on a course to make her own. Inger is in the picture,  number three from the left on the back row.
fdrakt_kvinna2b.JPG (34228 bytes)This is Malin and Karl Filip, picture taken from a brochure on Blekinge. They don't own the costumes.
fdrakt_kvinna5.jpeg (9619 bytes)I don't know anything about this picture, but as you can see, the costume is made in many different colours.
fdrakt_kvinnab.JPG (87380 bytes)This is Ingers sister Birgitta with the oldest complete preserved Blekinge costume.

It was used in 1818 by Inger and Birgittas great great grandmother Agda Olasdotter  when she married Petter Johansson from Hinderås. They got married in Fridlevstads church. The house in the background was built in1850, but the farm has been in the familiy from the 1700s.

Here you can see more of this beautiful costume, the site is not completed in english, but the pictures speak their own language http://www.blekingehemslojd.nu/ .
