bunad:
Olina Fossheim started to work on a special bunad for Jølster as
long ago as 1914. This bunad is based on old costumes and
fragments that have been preserved, and on accounts of former
dress customs as related by the older residents of the area. After
being presented at a meeting held in 1922, the bunad became
better known throughout the district, and was adopted by the
Sunnfjordlaget [Sunnfjord Association] in Bergen as well as
elsewhere.
